SOUL Electronics Debuts Artificial Intelligence Earphones

SOUL Electronics is bringing a new type of earphone to market. Debuting at this week’s CES in Las Vegas is the AI earphones with Gait Analysis. Powered by Beflex Biomech Engine, the earphones monitor running form to provide users with live, in-ear coaching.

The technology will be implemented in two of SOUL’s earphones: Run Free Pro Bio ($149.99) & Blade ($249.99).

To start tracking your runs, all you need to do is pair your earphones with an iOS or Android AI analyst app. From here, you can start to improve over time by measuring things like step length, shock, maximum leg force and much more. Not only do the analytics increase performance, they help minimize injury risk as well.

“Gait Analysis was formerly conducted with full equipment in a specific environment, but with Beflex Inc.’s technology, the technology can now be implemented in our earphones through a method called ‘Advanced Markerless Gait Capture,’” SOUL Electronics CEO Patrick Tang said in a statement. “By eliminating the markers, we are able to bring a range of earphones to market that make sport and fitness junkies’ lives easier, maximizing their workouts and providing them with the best technology to improve performance over time.”

“Beflex Inc. is a company developed by a team of young, professional research engineers keen on Gait Analysis and Biomechanics,” Juho Jung, CEO, Beflex Inc., added in a statement. “This is an exciting moment to announce our partnership with SOUL as they are the world’s first brand to apply the technology to their earphones and we are confident that this collection of earphones are going to be the next generation of sports wearable accessible to mass markets.”
