With its Create Change campaign, Microsoft has begun backing five NFL stars’ charitable causes. Von Miller (Von’s Vision), Russell Wilson (Why Not You Foundation), Martellus Bennett (the Imagination Agency), Greg Olsen (the HEARTest Yard) and Richard Sherman (Blanket Coverage) have each started organizations relating to causes close to their heart.
Partnering with all five players, Microsoft will make charitable donations along with providing Surface tablets to improve the foundation’s work. They are the same tablets used on the sidelines by players, coaches and referees during games.
As part of Create Change, Microsoft rolled out videos featuring each player discussing their foundation and why it’s close to their heart.
“Blanket Coverage and Microsoft’s goals definitely align,” Sherman, the Seattle Seahawks cornerback, said during his spot. “We’re partnering with each other to bring a Surface computer lab to my high school. They’re looking to give kids the tools to be successful and with the Surface this kid might be the next to change the world.”
Microsoft hopes to get others involved as well through its Super Bowl LII contest. They want fans to share their story on creating positive change within their community. Using #CreateChangeContest, each of the five players will choose their favorite entry with winners receiving a trip for two to the upcoming Super Bowl.
