With the safety of their fans in mind, the Miami Dolphins organization has opted to team up with Uber in an effort to get fans to and from their home games. There will now be a designated pick-up and drop off zone created and Uber will also be available during University of Miami games that are played at the Hard Rock Stadium.
“We recognize that getting in and out of the stadium and traffic is one of the challenges we have with fans as we continue to compete with 60-inch high-definition televisions. We are excited to partner with Uber in this innovative way and want to change our fans’ experiences of getting to and from these events while reimagining the tailgate experience,” said Miami Dolphins President and CEO Tom Garfinkel.
This past January, Uber had picked up a similar deal with the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee that let the company pick up and drop off football fans at Levi’s Stadium.

In addition, the team will also introduce the Uber Tailgate where fans can purchase an entire experience. It would include the Uber ride and a tailgate location, which will provide the grill, charcoal, table, chairs and a tent. There will be 20 of these spots available per game during the 2016 season and must be purchased by the Thursday before the designated game. There is an app called UberTAILGATE that is available to use for the reservation as well as a Provision Store where customers can purchase an array of food and drinks. The spaces are available for use until 30 minutes after kickoff and the users will have access to a bag check in the main tent, which is open until two hours after the game is over.
Miami’s season-opener is on Sunday, September 25th against the Cleveland Browns. The Uber Tailgate spots cost $250 or $350 (depending on the game) and must be purchased on a game-by-game basis.
