BRG Sports and 360fly have once again teamed up to announce a brand new smart line of helmets at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. BRG (Bell, Ridell, Giro) has taken their expertise in helmet development and combined it with 360fly’s proprietary 360-degree 4K video and have integrated them both to produce a new helmet that will be able to capture athlete’s full movements in high-quality 4K video.
The new product line comes out with four new helmets, each combining the helmet and 360 degree technology for varying purposes:
- Bell Star with 360fly – Driven by the essential needs of the modern racer, and completely new for 2016, the Bell Star is the most advanced full-face street motorcycle helmet on the market today
- Bell Moto 9 Flex with 360fly – Bell’s most comprehensive off road motorcycle helmet, featuring its proprietary “progressive layering” energy-management system
- Bell Super 2R with 360fly – Bell’s most versatile and award-winning all-mountain helmet, with an innovative detachable chin bar feature for maximum performance and adaptability
- Giro Edit with 360fly – Giro’s lightest full-featured snow helmet

360fly also continues to maximize the capabilities of their versatile video capture technology that helps extreme sports athletes capture footage.

All four of the aforementioned feature a fully-integrated 360-degree 4K camera that is also capable of shooting in conventional 16×9 video as well. The video can be instantly shared on social platforms such as Facebook or YouTube and can be edited instantly as well. The camera comes with standard Bluetooth integration, built-in WiFi and up to two hours of battery life.
The 360fly camera is detachable, which allows it to be utilized by the user in numerous lifestyle settings and continue to capture quality footage. And with autopilot tracking, users can track and follow their subjects in the videos and have the ability to make on the fly edits with the rider in the center of the video.
Another unique feature includes a collision avoidance alert system that senses and automatically notifies the rider of potential oncoming dangers that are outside of the rider’s field of vision. Lastly, there is also a live streaming option where advanced users that are looking to livestream 360 degree video can use the integrated camera pairs with the micro-HDMI base and are then able to provide an output to a 360-degree real-time video stream.
