Amazon and the NFL are debuting a new live pregame show for Thursday night games that will stream exclusively on Prime Video. The show is called NFL Next and will air prior to all 11 of Amazon’s Thursday Night Football games. The tech giant’s 11-game slate begins this Thursday, Sept. 26, when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Former NFL defensive end Chris Long and sportscaster Kay Adams of NFL Network will host the show alongside stats expert James Koh and veteran sports journalists Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer. Storm and Kremer will also be returning to their roles as one of Amazon’s play-by-play duo options for Thursday Night Football games. Prime members can also choose alternative audio streams, including the Fox Sports broadcast hosted by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, and the U.K. English language broadcast hosted by Derek Rae and Tommy Smyth.

The new pregame show is being produced by NFL Films and will also include current and former NFL players as guests. NFL Next will begin streaming at 7 p.m. ET for Thursday games that kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET. This is Amazon’s third straight year of live streaming Thursday night NFL games on its Prime Video subscription service and for free on Twitch—though NFL Next will only be available on Prime Video.
Amazon is also expanding its X-Ray stats integration feature, which debuted last season for TNF. Fans watching on Prime Video can now access real-time advanced stats from the NFL’s Next Gen Stats system such a quarterback’s average time to throw, a running back’s average yards after contact, and a wide receiver’s average yards of separation. To enable X-Ray, fans must be watching on Prime Video through an iOS or Android mobile device or tablet and tap the “Stats by X-Ray” button while positioning their device vertically, or via Fire TV where they can click “up” on their Fire TV remote during games.
All of Amazon’s TNF games will also stream on Twitch, the interactive video streaming service owned by Amazon, for the third consecutive season. Fans will once again be able to interact with each other through NFL-themed emotes developed by Twitch. Emote options include every team logo plus others that celebrate touchdowns, flags, catches, and runs. Twitch will also have select popular esports personalities and streamers co-stream every TNF game.
