From the playground, to the high-flying acrobatics seen on America’s Got Talent, and even to your own driveway, the pogo stick has been majorly updated.
Meet the V4, the fourth generation model in the Vurtego Pogo line.
Developers of Vurtego are calling the V4 the “most advanced pogo stick ever created.” Now, I do not consider myself a pogo stick connoisseur, but the fact that the V4 can elevate you from 8-10+ feet off the ground crushes the playground edition of the pogo that barely bounces 1-2 feet off the chalk shaded pavement.
So what else makes the V4 jump differently than George B. Hansburg’s pogo in 1957 … besides the wooden peg.
The V4’s design is centered around Vurtego’s brand new Air Piston, which adds 14 cubic inches of air volume in comparison to its former model, the V3. The V4 comes in two styles, the V4 and the V4 Pro. The V4 is recommended for the everyday user as it only reaches a potential height of 8+ feet. The V4 Pro would attract the attention of an “extreme pogoer” who is looking to reach X-Game level heights – a 10+ feet jump potential to be exact.

Although potential height is the first noteworthy spec when looking over the V4, the two models have more to offer.
A stainless steel XL slide shaft and 40% reduced friction brushing creates a much smoother ride on the V4. Accompanied with 4 breather holes which maximize air flow and 2844 CC air volume, the user can focus on their next leaping bound. In comparison, V4 Pro includes an extra 2” of additional slide shaft stroke and 78% reduced friction mod-ready brushing. The Pro is “easier to maneuver, softer, smoother bounce and ability to jump higher with less effort.”

Increasing the PSI works directly with the height users will be shot into the air. The V4 can be used by a 75 pound child or a 400+ pound adult just by adjusting the PSI. If the spring is too stiff users can simply release some air. Or if it is too soft they can put some in.
The pogo is also easily retractable for transportation. A fully inflated V4 reaches a length of 52”, but let the air out and the stick shrinks to a 34” travel size.
The V4 website is chock-full of more detailed information breaking down each V4 part bolt by bolt.
The stick could also change the way you HIIT some cardio. “As a low impact, high intensity exercise device, the V4 is perfect for HIIT (high intensity training), Crossfit and circuit training, and any other sort of training in which you’re looking for a high heart rate through short bursts of energy,” according to the Vurtego website. The V4 targets your lower back, glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves and triceps.
Vurtego’s mission statement says it all. “Our goal at Vurtego is to bring back a little bit of that childhood joy that seems to be missing from today’s world. We make the best quality pogo stick that we possibly can with the hopes of putting a smile on our customers’ faces as they achieve personal flight – if only for a heartbeat.”
Whatever your intended purpose is for the V4, the technology behind the pogo stick could bring the ability of the sport to new heights, and that childhood excitement back to life. So kiss parkour and cliff diving goodbye. The future of extreme activity resides in the rubber handles of the V4 pogo stick.
