USA Triathlon, NormaTec Renew Recovery Therapy Partnership Through 2021

USA Triathlon extended its partnership with NormaTec last week. The compression therapy firm will be USA Triathlon’s exclusive recovery partner until 2021, making its technology available to elite American triathletes and coaches for the next three years.

Triathletes are some of the world’s top all-around athletes, competing in the water, on a bike and on their feet. The constant use of and stress on their muscles from all three sports requires quick and efficient recovery.

“NormaTec has been working closely with USA Triathlon for several years, and we are thrilled to extend this partnership,” said NormaTec CEO Gilad Jacobs in a statement. “With the intense training required to be competitive in this sport, it is no surprise that triathletes were among the earliest adopters of NormaTec’s athlete recovery technology. It is a great honor to continue the tradition of helping these incredible athletes push the boundaries of performance.”

NormaTec’s recovery system comprises a control device plus attachments that can be placed on the hips, legs, and arms. The attachments pulsate in a massage pattern that moves along a limb, keeping pressure on previously treated areas. The massage is intended to improve blood circulation and decrease soreness.

NormaTec already counts Olympic gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles, and the 49ers among its users. In May, pro cycling’sTeam Novo Nordisk also announced a partnership with the company, and NormaTec has even been used in esports. Extending its partnership with USA Triathlon may help NormaTec increase its recognition across endurance sports, where the technology might be most useful.
