  • Abu Dhabi Media has launched UFC Arabia, the first Arabic language UFC streaming platform for fans in the Middle East and North Africa. The subscription service will livestream all UFC events and offer access to a video-on-demand content library available in both English and Arabic. Fans throughout 21 countries, including Egypt, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, can download the app to view on web, smartphone, and tablet devices. Over the past year, UFC has launched a 24-hour TV channel in Russia and expanded into China through its partnership with Qutoutiao, a digital video platform.

  • Cavs Legion GC, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has announced plans to build a 2,700-square foot esports center in Cleveland’s Battery Park neighborhood. The venue, scheduled to open this fall, will serve as a practice facility for Cavs Legion and will also host gaming events that are open to the public. It will feature 40 gaming stations and a full-service broadcast studio to produce livestreams and other content.

  • Alibaba has been named the ticketing systems and services provider for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games. Alibaba owns Damai, one of China’s largest ticketing platforms. “The appointment of Alibaba has been made with the objective of securing a single provider to deliver ticketing services and operations over several Games editions, reducing costs and the complexity of hosting the Games,” an IOC statement reads. Alibaba previously signed a sponsorship deal in 2017 to become the official cloud services provider through the 2028 Olympics.
