In September 2016, Manchester City partnered with China-based UBTECH Robotics to bring humanoid robots to the stadium to enhance the fan experience. Now, Manchester City is taking it one step further with the release of UBTECH’s Alpha 2.
The latest humanoid robot will feature UBTECH’s technology as well as a vast knowledge of all things Manchester City as it has been programmed with an encyclopedia of the Club’s history.
The technology will also give the humanoid robots the ability to perform voice detection and recognition, meaning that when the Alpha 2 meets current and former Manchester City players, it will know who it is talking to.

The robots have already taken on player Willy Caballero, Fernandinho and Yaya Toure and have also showcased their talents on match days at the Etihad Stadium.
