Twitter’s New Three-Hour Weekly MLB Program ‘The Dugout’ To Debut In June

Twitters regular schedule of sports programming is coming more into focus following its Digital Content NewFronts presentation earlier this month, with the company announcing its new three-hour weekly MLB program set to debut June 14.

On Wednesday nights, The Dugout — as the show is being called — will live stream exclusively on Twitter from 8-11 p.m. ET and will be hosted by MLB.com’s Alexa Datt. Ironically enough, Datt’s daily show at 12:25 p.m. ET on MLB.com is also live streamed on Facebook Live.

The weekly broadcast of The Dugout will include analysis and discussions around trending topics from beat reporters and columnists along with appearances from former MLB players and celebrities who have a connection to America’s Pastime. Additionally, live’ look-ins will be integrated into the broadcast, similar to what Twitter sports show The Rally already does on a nightly basis.

The Dugout will be available at TheDugout.Twitter.com or through the Major League Baseball Twitter account.
