Heading into the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, or the “Final Five,” as they titled themselves, was receiving high praise.
Led by powerhouse Simone Biles and reigning all-around champion Gabby Douglas and featuring veteran Aly Raisman, bars specialist Madison Kocian and enthusiastic Laurie Hernandez, the squad dominated the competition, winning the team gold, and individual medals on all apparatuses.
While Biles stole most of the headlines, Hernandez walked away with the hearts of those who watched her compete along with multiple new endorsement deals.
Catching worldwide attention for her bubble personality during her floor routine, Hernandez became dubbed “The Human Emoji” with her infectious facial expressions featuring her big smile and sparkling eyes.
With her nickname and new spotlight, Hernandez went on to dance and dazzle her way to a “Dancing with the Stars” victory, and now, she is releasing her very own emoji app for iOS and Android devices.
While the app launched last week offers more than 100 emojis, there are other hidden gems that set this emoji app apart from the many others that are available to download.

There are two mini games featured in the app, one that allows users to help Hernandez choose her outfit and another that allows everyone to become a gymnast by taking a picture of yourself and adding them to a gymnastic pose.
In addition to the games, Hernandez’s new line of GK leotards can be purchased through the app, and there is also an homage to her upcoming book, “I Got This.”
The app is available to download on the App Store or Google Play for $1.99.
