An app with a rankings-based system, Fancred provides a unique community experience for sports fans looking for something beyond the stats and information you might find on ESPN. The more active the user, the higher his or her score on a scale of 1-100. Inside the app, you can read the latest articles about your team, follow other users, and share content from around the web to your followers and community. Fans can also check-in at stadiums to let people know they’re at the game as well as participate in forum discussions with others.

If you’re serious about golf and getting better, this is the app for you. V1 Sports developed the Digital Coaching System for golfers to allow them to analyze their swings right from their phone. Compatible with the iPad and iPhone, the app allows golfers to take videos of their swing, draw swing plane lines, access to PGA pros for advice, and an online database of more than 50 professional golfers’ swings to compare yours to.

With the DirecTV tie-in, users can also find out what programming the bars will have on television to ensure you can watch your team’s game.

FanCake is a social-based game-style app that rewards sports fans for watching sports on television. Fans can also take part in live quizzes, competitions and more with other users of the app. You get points on the social-based app for correctly answering the questions, predicting the score and more.

In the age of statistics, FanGraphs Baseball pairs together fans’ love of the game with the love of numbers. This app gives fans live statistics of any baseball game and also lifetime stats of any MLB player since 1974. Perhaps the coolest part of the app is the ability for fans to track their chances of winning with live probability-based graphs.
