This Smartwatch Controlled Auto Follow Drone Is Doing Well On Kickstarter

Action sport athletes are always looking for the best ways to show off their latest tricks. But this can prove to be a challenge when trying to balance between focusing on the activity and capturing the perfect picture and video. However, with the help of Kickstarter FlyPro is hoping to give users a hands-free opportunity to over come this multitasking challenge.

The campaign of FlyPro XEagle, Smartwatch Controlled Autonomous Drone, on Kickstarter hopes to raise $100,000 by June 13. The company anticipates the “cross-over drone” to keep features of traditional quad copters while adding more excitement to the device.

FlyPro focuses on developing and innovating smart Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), as well as incorporating flight and voice control systems, visual positioning and obstacle avoidance into their products. The company wants users to focus on the sport instead of worrying about recording the moments.

XEagle incorporates flight algorithms that allows users of all experience levels to capture their best moments. The drone is controlled by smartwatches, but can also follow you with voice commands. With just the touch of a button on the XWatch, the aircraft hovers over you. Keep track of the flight height, radius of distance, battery level and remaining flight time all on the XWatch.

The 1260g device reaches speeds up to 15 m/s and 360 degrees of high-speed following and recording. It has a flight time of about 22 minutes. There is an eight-way hand control knob to let users fully capture every moment.

The drone calculates relative position and uses gimbal intelligent tracking to position itself in the best angel to capture your moves. The lens is always aimed at you and adjusts itself as you move. You can also use an IOS or Android mobile app to draw a flight path that the drone will follow.

With an infrared obstacle avoidance system and built-in photoelectric sensors, there is no need to stress about collisions. It has a 0.1 to 15 meter range of obstacle detection, 12 m/s maximum relative speed, real time and precise calculations for obstacle location information.

The device also has built in GPS and double compass protection. If the GPS signal is ever lost, it will switch to hold position mode to prevent crashing. The double compass protection will automatically land to prevent loss if it detects inconsistencies between the inside and outside compasses’ data. The aircraft will also automatically land when the voltage is too low or if the control signal is lost.

The FlyPro XEagle is available in four different packages: XEagle Lite, XEagle Sport, XEagle Advanced and XEagle Professional. Backers can spend between $299 and $589, depending on the package they would like to buy. With 31 days to go to reach their goal, the FlyPro XEagle team is more than half way there. Together the XEagle and XWatch hope to make the task of filming action sports a breeze, no matter how experienced a user may be.
