The incubator “Le Tremplin” seeks the next generation of sports entrepreneurs

Paris, France — Le Tremplin, the sports innovation platform of the City of Paris launched by Paris&Co in November 2014, is announcing its third call for applications. The third cohort of startups will be incubated starting April 2017 in the premises of the Jean Bouin Stadium.

Building on its booming startup ecosystem and in view of numerous major sports events held in the City, Paris was the first world metropolis to create an incubator entirely dedicated to innovation in sports.

Le Tremplin has already fostered the emergence of 2 cohorts, helping 40 startups to develop disruptive solutions and products and consolidating their business models thanks to a comprehensive coaching program. Since their arrival at Le Tremplin, the incubated startups have already raised funding totalling more than 25 million euros.

Encouraged by this strong track record, Le Tremplin will host and support another 20 new startups, with a particular focus on the following fields: disabled sports, performance enhancing tools, fitness- health, virtual reality, eSports, innovative materials.

The candidates will be judged upon 5 main criteria:

–        (i) the innovative aspect of the solution ;

–        (ii) the economic potential of the startup and its capacity of creating jobs ;

–        (iii) the credibility and coherence of the business plan ;

–        (iv) the potential of scaling up abroad ;

–        (v) the complementarity of backgrounds within the project’s founding team.

The startups selected after a first appraisal of their application will be invited to present their project in front of a jury (with Le Tremplin’s founding partners: FDJ, INSEP, Lepape, MAIF, Ministry of Sports, Nike, UCPA, Unibail-Rodamco and others to be announced soon in the next few weeks), in charge of the final selection of the 3rd cohort.
