What is more fun than running away from the evil demon monkey in Temple Run 2?
Doing so with NFL players.
The developers of the popular mobile game Temple Run 2, Imangi Studios, and the marketing and licensing arm of the NFL Players Association, NFL Players Inc., announced a partnership that allows players to use popular NFL athletes when they play the game.
As of now, gamers are able to purchase and download quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson as runners for Temple Run 2, but they will not be the only ones. Imangi Studios will be uploading more NFL players as the season continues.
“Featuring NFL players as in-game characters in Temple Run 2 provides fans with a new way to experience their favorite players using their incredible skills off the field in a unique, fantastical setting,” said Steve Scebelo, Vice President of Business Development and Licensing for NFLPI in a press release. “Players have embraced the opportunity to become an in-game character and are jockeying for position to be selected by Imangi as the next player to become part of the Temple Run universe.”
Gamers do have to take into consideration that the ability to download the NFL players is limited, but once they do purchase the content, they will be available for use permanently. Weekly updates will be posted on Facebook with the latest information about the runners’ roster, so fans are encouraged to check in regularly.
