Sydney Startup Jaro Sports Making It Easier For Teams To Communicate With Players

There are many components to managing a sports league and running around checking email and texts. Entering data into spreadsheets and planning league events can be exhausting.

Hugh Treseder and Jafeth Rodriquez built some software that is attempting to make that easier. The Sydney startup Jaro Sports is assisting teams in communication and player management. The program does a little bit of everything from managing individual player welfare and injury prevention to larger league events.

According to startupdaily.net, Rodriquez came up with the idea after a friend asked him for help with running a baseball league. Soon, they were getting interest from a wide range of sports and clubs.

Now the company works with at least 14 clubs and leagues, including Australian rules football club NT Thunder. According to Northern Territory News, half of the club’s players used the Jaro app this year to communicate their physical and mental wellbeing down to particular muscle groups and soreness levels, and it plans to have all players use it by the start of next season.

Jaro users are able to set up accounts that can accept online registrations and send out individual ones as well as bulk messages to players, coaches and player personnel.

It also offers data on player’s health and performance. According to Rodriquez, it can measure sleep quality, hydration levels, nutrition metrics, training loads and more.

Jaro is available as an app to make it easier for teams to communicate via SMS text within the software.

The software is available in Essentials, Premium and Platinum. Essentials pricing starts at $4 per person and is expected to expand to the United States in the coming months. The website offers a free 30-day trial.
