Swingbyte, a digital swing analyzer that transmits motion data to a golfer’s mobile device just launched Virtual Coach. The platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze a golfer’s swing and identifies the most important swing and body faults present in the user. The technology aims to deliver individualized lessons and drills to maximize the golfer’s skills.
Virtual Coach uses a machine-learning algorithm to identify the top swing flaws of the golfer. Seconds later, Virtual Coach provides a series of video lessons and drills to improve the user’s swing. Users can view their swing in full 3D along with swing speed, club path, plane, attack angle and much more.
Tech is transforming golf. Don’t miss a thing with the SportTechie newsletter.
Virtual Coach hopes to transform Swingbyte from a reporting tool to an interactive learning platform. “Up to this point, Swingbyte was a great training tool for the knowledgeable golfer, but helping the average golfer understand and utilize data to correct their swing faults is the next step,” said Alex Pedenko, Swingbyte CEO and Co-Founder. “Virtual Coach will do just that by providing highly personalized, easy-to-understand drills and lessons.”
The 3D club path shown on your phone or iPad is a very unique feature that most users will really enjoy. The immediate feedback may help you conquer that one skill that has been holding you back in your golf game all these years.
How does this device work? CBS Sports emphasizes how stress-free and easy the technology is to use. Once the power is flipped on, Swingbyte connects to your device and you’re off and running. The Swingbyte sensor attaches to the shaft of any club, captures the motion data, and transmits it to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth.
The interactive tool is lightweight and costs $169. It is available for iOS and Android.
