If it is not clear by now, this season’s Super Bowl is going to be monumental. Companies, advertisers, and the host city committee have already been planning to make Super Bowl 50 one to remember. It will aim to be an event that the next fifty Super Bowls will have to live up to. To make this Super Bowl special from a digital standpoint, the Host Committee launched the Road to 50 app, available for Android and iOS devices.
Super Bowl 50 is not until February 7, 2016 in San Francisco, but that is not stopping super fans from preparing months in advance. The Road to 50 app includes Super Bowl-related event information, social media sharing, trivia quizzes and even custom photo frames so users can pretend that they are on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
After downloading the app one of my favorite features quickly became the Explore tab. When users select this tab, they will find events happening throughout San Francisco. It is perfect for travelers looking for activities to do. The tab is already filled with events from wine festivals to NFL games. A map is also included under the tab to show users where each event will take place. As of now, there are events planned up until November, but as time goes on more events will be added.
Fans also have the opportunity to gain points for prizes. The golden prize is a pair of tickets to Super Bowl 50. Users gain points from quizzes or sharing their activities on social media. As of now, the leader only has 1655 points so it is not too late to join the action with hopes of winning tickets.
In order to start receiving your points, you must download the app and register for a Fan Mobile Pass, which are both free. The pass allows fans to interact with NFL and sponsor activations. With the Fan Mobile Pass, users can be involved with interactive experiences and games, as well as check-in and receive free giveaways at different NFL events.
With less than five months until Super Bowl 50 and the NFL season officially underway, the Road to 50 app is preparing fans for all the excitement that comes with the 50th Super Bowl.
