STYR Labs Launches Smart Bottle For Intelligent Hydration

Hydration is key. Ask a professional athlete, a recreational exerciser, or just any human being.

Everyone will tell you how important it is, but they will also tell you that becoming and staying hydrated is easier said than done.

STYR Labs, an ecosystem of connected products and customized nutritional products, is trying to remedy that problem with the release of their third product — the STYR Smart Bottle.

The STYR Smart Bottle is an intelligent hydration system that combines a stainless steel insulated bottle with advanced technology through STYR’s patent-pending app that calculates hydration levels based on the user’s motion, biometrics and environmental conditions.

“Whether you’re a serious athlete or a recreational exerciser, it’s important to make sure you get the right amount of water before, during and after exercise,” Styr Labs COO Paul Mackay said in a statement. “Proper hydration goes beyond the athletic realm; it impacts eery single individual and we finally have a way to make it easy, fun and convenient. We created the smart bottle to not only have consumers stay hydrated and on top of their game, but to actually enjoy and look forward to drinking water.”

Users can track their daily water intake and manage their electrolyte balance through an embedded, touch-sensitive display that is located on the smart cap.

With STYR’s patent-pending app, the smart bottle is continuously synced with other STYR products, such as the activity tracker and wireless scale, to adjust hydration goals based on activity or body water content.

The bottle is also recognized at more that 55,000 gyms across the country thanks to geo-fencing technology. This allows smart bottle users to receive a push notification in the STYR app to log their indoor workout to get an updated hydration goal.

Taking into consideration the geographic location of the user, the bottle adjusts for temperature and humidity. It also accounts for rapid movement, such as flights. It detects a combination of “flight mode” on the nine or change in location via flight and from there the bottle adjusts for dehydration based on travel time, the starting location and the landing location.

The smart bottle can be purchased for $59.
