Stephen Curry’s new basketball shoe, the Curry 4 “More Dubs” colorway that’s especially for Golden State Warriors fans, dropped for sale on Saturday. Before the shoes hit mass market, though, Curry fans across the Bay Area had a chance to grab an autographed pair as they fell from the sky.
The Curry 4 #DroneDrop brought Warriors fans to different points in San Francisco and Oakland, such as Shoreline Park and Brannan Street Wharf. Other Bay Area locales featured different items, like an Under Armour-branded basketball or an SC30 hoodie. Heading to a park in Oakland could launch a shoe-seeker into Curry’s own basketball mini-game.

Only 30 Curry 4s were dropped, so fans clamoring for the sneaker had to hurry to drop zones to beat out other people wanting the Bay Area’s hottest new wardrobe item.
Can’t believe I really got to do this today! Bay Area thanks for coming out for the #Curry4’s! It’s a wrap at Pier 27! Who’s was my lucky winner for these size 12’s?! @UAbasketball #dronedrop @StephenCurry30 pic.twitter.com/B1f99LHXMA

Some fans who didn’t get the shoe were pretty upset at Under Armour.
Hey Barry, Sorry to hear you had a poor experience today. As with any limited sneaker release we only have so much product to give away. We really appreciated you coming out to support today so we wanted to hook you up. Shoot us a DM.

But for the fans who were able to get their hands on the Curry 4s, Christmas sure came early. The shoes went on sale shortly after the drone drop, so expect many more than 30 people to be sporting the kicks around the Bay Area.
