The St. Louis Cardinals have launched their new instagram video series, #BirdToTheFuture, promising a fun and engaging experience for fans. The videos will be celebrating the team’s history, their museum collection, and will star Fredbird, John Rooney, Bill DeWitt, Red Schoendienst, Ozzie Smith, Matt Adams, Lance Lynn, Sir Adam Wainwright, and their broadcast team,.
The Cardinals plan on releasing numerous videos per day before 5:00 PM CST, right up until the series finale on September 25th, involving silly humor and mascot mischief. The series will focus on promoting their new museum at Ballpark Village in a fun and entertaining way that engages fans and continues the yearly trend for St. Louis.
“We hope fans enjoy the daily episodes that we will post every afternoon on Instagram,” said Cardinals’ President, Bill DeWitt III, in a press release. “#BirdToTheFuture is an entertaining way to celebrate team history, spotlight our great museum collection, and rich team archives, while also poking fun at ourselves.”
With an 11 percent surge in Instagram followers after their #TheFrontOffice series last year, the Cardinals hope to increase fan engagement using digital technology and social mediums in creative and amusing ways. More than 50,000 likes were given during the #TheFrontOffice series; and the Red Birds now have more than half a million followers on Twitter.
