Elevator pitch?

BioMetrix is uniquely different from other athletic tech solutions; it isn’t a wristband, it doesn’t require a specialized garment, and after a couple of minutes you won’t even remember you’re wearing it.

BioMetrix is the next generation rehab and training optimization tool for keeping athletes healthier and stronger longer. It’s a powerful athletic motion capture tool that offers the ease and simplicity of a wearable, making team monitoring and management more effective and efficient while providing deeper insight into athlete fitness than before.

Problem and Solution?

Gabby, our cofounder, ran for Duke University for 3 years. In that time she raced in 3 national championships, earned second team All American honors, and unfortunately underwent 2 surgeries as a result of overuse and bad form. Despite being surrounded by incredible resources and some of the world’s best coaches, trainer, and medical staff, Gabby’s best option for moving beyond her not-so-uncommon problems was surgery.

Injury is a problem for every athletic program and Gabby and I were not the only athletes stuck in a cycle of injury and rehab. Elite athletes will lose an average of 60 days per year of gameplay due to injuries. The worst thing about it is the majority of those injuries are preventable, habitual, and overuse injuries sustained due to bad form, overtraining, or improper return to gameplay rehabilitation. Our BioMX platform is the only solution that provides precise, actionable data and feedback on a user’s form that personalized, targeted rehab and training can be a viable solution for every athlete.

The BioMX is easy and simple to use; trainers create a training regimen by selecting predefined activities or creating new activities for their athletes. They create alerts based on Proper Mechanics and Fatigue Identifiers such as joint stability, form asymmetries, and task consistency and can seamlessly monitor all athletes in their program through one interface.

The athlete simply sticks the thin, flexible device right on their skin- even in the shoe- and goes about their rehab and training just as they normally would; using our visuals while performing the activity to gain feedback for improvement through our mobile interface. The trainer and athlete then receive reports throughout their regimen, identifying when the athlete has met milestones, where they need to improve, and when they are ready to progress to the next stage. This allows them to optimize their recovery and come back faster and stronger.
