MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. DECEMBER 07, 2016– Today, SportsEngine and SportsBoard announced an integration that allows sports clubs, academies, camps, leagues, and associations to digitize their tryout and athlete development tracking processes. Through this integration, sports organizers can now automatically push athletes registered for tryouts or teams from SportsEngine directly into SportsBoard, allowing them to capture assessment data from tryouts, single seasons, and year-over-year to track athlete development.
“Increasingly, youth sports organizations are tracking athlete development not only during tryouts and throughout the season, but as they grow in the organization,” said Rick Ehrman, VP of business development at SportsEngine. “SportsBoard is the perfect solution for us to integrate with for those organizations who want to track athlete development over time and deliver more value back to athletes and parents.”
Thousands of sports organizations have chosen SportsEngine to run their website, tournaments, leagues, online registration, and mobile apps. Through these applications, over 525,000 sports teams, clubs, and leagues have been able to drastically reduce the time they spend on administration and communication, allowing them to spend more time with their athletes.
“Many athletes and their parents are looking for more and better feedback on their performance, from a physical and mental perspective,” said Gregg Jacobs, CEO of SportsBoard. “With this integration, together we make it very easy for sports organizers to digitize their assessment processes around tryouts and on-going throughout the season, delivering feedback that can ultimately enable athletes to significantly improve their skills over time.”
Traditionally, coaches have used clipboards/paper to capture assessment data — whether it is objective (40-times, shuttle times, vertical/broad jump, and any other sport-specific measurement or statistic) or subjective (skills ratings, text notes, video clips with voice-over, or voice memos). SportsBoard enables sports organizers to easily capture all forms of assessment data, tag it to an athlete, aggregate it into a hub, and generate evaluations and leaderboards.
The integration is available today for any SportsEngine or SportsBoard customer. To learn more about the integration and schedule a demo, visit the link to our partner page here.
