Sport Ngin, founded in 2008, is based out of Minneapolis. The company is focused on building applications and services to help the coaches of today spend less time on the administrative activities of their organization and more time teaching the qualities of Sport to their athletes. Sport Ngin believes that children can learn about teamwork, respect and discipline while being a part of a team.
The company offers a free app that is available for download on the App Store and Google Play. It allows coaches, athletes and families to stay connected. Coaches can alert families and athletes by team messaging and updating the team’s schedule. Members can RSVP to events, practices and games right from their phone.
With the Sport Ngin app and a partnership with PHIT America, children will hopefully have a better support system of staying active. Coaches and families will be able to monitor their activity level and together teams will be able to inspire each other.
Personal Health Investment Today, or PHIT America, has their goal set on encouraging healthier lifestyles. The company only began in 2013 and already has support from over 100 companies and organizations, including Adidas and Nike, among others. PHIT America is a cause and campaign dedicated to increasing physical activity and fitness to improve the health of not only children, but of all Americans.
PHIT America has started their movement by giving out GO! Grants to school-base programs, but they have taken serious steps beyond this to start a healthy lifestyle in children. The PHIT Act is legislation pending in Congress. The health-related tax bill will allow Americans to use Pre-Tax Medical Accounts to pay for physical activity expenses. PHIT America hopes this legislation will give both adults and children an incentive to get fit that will help prevent healthcare related costs in the future.
About two-thirds of children do not meet the healthy standard of activity and 80% are at risk of disease because of this inactivity. Sport Ngin and PHIT America will focus on implementing pro-activity programsto get children off of their electronic devices. Together the companies want to increase physical activity and participation in fitness programs and athletics with kids early in their lives.
“As a major sponsor of PHIT America, we look forward to providing our customers with a path to make donations to support this incredibly worthy cause,” Kaugenberg added.
