Shadowman Sports And USA Football Partner To Make Tackling Safer For Youth Football

Shadowman Sports announced a new partnership with football's national governing body, USA Football. Here you can see their tackling systems.

Shadowman Sports and USA Football have announced a partnership where they will promote the Shadowman tackling system across America. The tackling system will be utilized at the U.S. National Games that include Regional Development Camps, National Development Games, and the International Bowl.

The tackling system eliminates player-on-player contact by implementing new tackling tech that allows players to practice with full contact without the usual physical punishment that the game of football creates.

“Shadowman enables coaches to dedicate more time to teaching proper tackling technique without player-to-player contact. Doing so can develop athletes to become fundamentally sound tacklers while advancing player safety,” adds USA Football Senior Director of Football Development Nick Inzerello.

The tackling system is designed to be beneficial for both amateur and professional athletes. In fact, Shadowman Sports offers two types of tackling tech to appeal to different age groups with the Shadowman Pro and Shadowman Junior. The Shadowman Pro is recommended for athletes who are 14 and up, while the Shadowman Junior’s tackling tech is recommended for athletes between the ages of 6-14.

The tacking systems are composed of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), which contains elastic properties so when players make contact with them, the product absorbs most of the contact. Accordingly, with this new partnership the USA football code will now state that both Shadowman tackling systems should be utilized for 30 minutes a day.

JP Hartigan, CEO of Shadowman Sports states that, “USA Football is responsible for creating the biggest national platform for youth education in Football and aligns with exactly what Shadowman is aiming to do, which is create a safer sports environment through preventive design. Together we will train players and educate coaches to play smarter, better and for longer.”
