1. What is your elevator pitch?

Scorebook Live is a Sports Media & Technology company that provides teams, leagues and tournaments with easy to use scoring and media solutions that allow them to engage their fans and promote their brands. Our 1st product is an iPad app that has been approved by most state high school associations as a replacement to the traditional paper scorebook.

2. Problem & Solution

High School, Small College and Youth Basketball fans are underserved by today’s local media. There are just too many games and too many teams for any media outlet to adequately provide a level of coverage that satisfies fans, especially the passionate ones.

The solution is to replace the traditional paper scorebook with the Scorebook Live iPad Scoring app. It is easier to use and more accurate while also streaming live game updates to fans and the media. At the end of the game it automatically creates a box score and writes a recap story, eliminating the need for coaches to “call-in” scores to the local media while at the same time giving local media access to a depth of reliable information that they would have otherwise had to spend time gathering.

3. Market – your target market and the overall market

Our solution offers major benefits to the over 20,000 high schools in the U.S and their sizable fan base. Other markets such as club, rec, intramural and even small college teams can benefit from using Scorebook Live as well.

4. Business Model – how do you make money?

The Scorebook Live application and website are free. The company monetizes the website via sponsorships and advertising.

5. Management Team

Dan Beach – President & CEO

Dan Dickau – Vice President, Market Development

Jeff Beach – Director Product Development

Frances Garcia – Director of Marketing

6. What else do you want the audience to know about your venture?

Our products and approach to the market should not be confused with existing apps that track stats for a specific team, or source simple scores from the crowd. The Scorebook Live solution is an “end to end” game management, reporting and media solution.
