Aspire Academy and SAP have decided to team up to grow Qatar’s youth sports environment. Aspire Academy is a leading athlete academy for the youth of Qatar that scouts and develops youth in sports while also providing an education. Many of their athletes have actually gone on to become Olympians and athletes in the World Cup.
This partnership means that coaches and athletes will have access to all sorts of data about an athlete that can be used to improve performance, development, overall league operations and sports science. Additionally, the data will also be available in real-time on any mobile device.

SAP will also explore predictive analytics, and cognitive training in the partnership. According to a press release from SAP and Aspire Academy, Director of Strategy for Aspire Academy Markus Egger believes this will help the academy grow, “By becoming a global leader in data management and analytics using SAP HANA, Aspire will continue to deliver unparalleled coaching and training for Qatari youth, and players across our world wide network of clubs…” With growth expected in the sports analytics market at a global scale this partnership is a progressive move for the youth sports movement in Qatar.
If all works out well, this partnership could mean great things for both parties. Aspire Academy can improve on coaching, analytics, games, athlete health, scouting and its global presence. The academy also has a chance to learn about SAP’s knowledge from their Sports One solution system, where they collected and analyzed data on teams like the German National Football team. From an SAP perspective, this partnership also provides a starting off point for taking their analytics expertise to a whole new market in the sports world.
With more technology being developed and a lot of opportunity for growth in sports management and analytics, SAP can play a key role in developing the Qatar sports talent pool with the goal of competing on the world stage for decades to come.
