Before the San Francisco Giants had pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Scottsdale, Ariz. and on the eve of the Giants Fan Fest at AT&T Park, the team held a Family Feud-style game night for season ticket holders to attend.
The event in San Francisco last week served to promote the upcoming season and introduce the new team to hardcore fans who have tickets to every game. Season ticket holders had answered the survey of questions beforehand to contribute to the answers on the board for players and coaches to guess.
But anyone on Facebook could watch, as the Giants streamed the event using Facebook Live.
The Giants continued to live stream events using Facebook Live the following day at Fan Fest with featuring manager Bruce Bochy, general manager Bobby Evans, closer Mark Melancon and infielders Brandon Crawford, Joe Panik and Brandon Belt.
The player appearances at Game Night and Fan Fest helped fans get to know the players better, and for those who weren’t able to make it to the events, they were still able to watch.
