Lumo Bodytech, which has developed a tech platform for smart sensors and software to optimize performance and address human biomechanics through real-time tracking of body movement, announced it will introduce a product for Puma powered by its artificial intelligence (AI) MotionScience Platform.
It won’t be Lumo’s first go-around as far as AI-powered products. Currently on the market are Lumo Lift and Lumo Run. Lift is a wearable designed to improve posture while Run is a coaching platform for runners. Through data, the company has proven Run’s effectiveness in helping users run faster and more efficiently.
“Lumo and PUMA have a shared vision for building a new, cutting edge AI product and we’re thrilled to provide this solution to people all around the world,” Lumo CEO & co-founder Monisha Perkash said in a statement. “We’re also excited to expand our Lumo MotionScience Platform to build next-generation capabilities for PUMA’s market-leading sports performance products.”
The heavy-lifting in product design will be done by the Puma Innovation Team. It’s anyone’s guess as to what exactly the product will be but there’s an expectation we will see some kind of AI coach that provides more than just data.
Not long ago, Lumo made their MotionScience Platform generally available to third-party partners. Puma is one of the first to take advantage of the platform’s algorithms that break ground in biomechanical insight.
