As the NBA free agency period opens, teams are making a mad dash to improve. For the Portland Trail Blazers, the improvement extends off the court. The team has announced its intention to continue improving its mobile app by partnering with Venuetize.
One of the specialties of Venuetize’s mobile-first platform is its location-detection services. This will be a major focus for the Trail Blazers as it enables a personal and contextual experience for the fan. Location services include help finding your friends at the arena along with interactive experiences such as scavenger hunts.
Other added features extend beyond the arena’s gates. The app will offer fans help finding and paying for parking through the mobile wallet. Once inside, that same mobile wallet makes food and drink purchasing simpler while allowing fans to gain loyalty points which can be redeemed through the app.
“The internal process and project management during phase one was magnificent and helped us accomplish much in a short amount of time. Venuetize kept us true to deadlines and schedules,” said TJ Ansley, Director of Digital Experience for the Portland Trail Blazers, in a statement. “We are excited to continue to build our mobile experience for our fans.”
