PIQ, a French start-up in sports wearables, has introduced a genuine Artificial Intelligence interface (GAIA) for sports activities
GAIA is the first AI system that autonomously understand and analyze sports movement, according to the company, and it does so through specific motion-capture algorithms.
The multi-algorithm machine-learning intelligence is a result of fundamental and applied research that has allowed people to understand and analyze microscopic variations in sports movement.

In combination with the company’s sensor product, PIQ ROBOT, athletes can identity their “winning factors” with the technology highlighting their best strengths.
PIQ ROBOT is a nano-computer that can analyze more than 195,000 data points per minute in real-time.
In addition to that, PIQ ROBOT provides an ordeal of services for multiple sports.
For golf, it can act as a range finder, swing analyzer, and shot tracker. For tennis, it tracks speed, spin, stroke type and your overall progress.
For sports such as kiteboarding, PIQ ROBOT measures height, hang-time, rotations, and landing. For skiing it tracks angle, transition, force, speed and turn rate.
With GAIA’s statistical intelligence and PIQ ROBOT’s measurement capacity working together, millions of actions can be thoroughly analyzed. All athletes will have the ability to compare their past performances as well as compare them to other performances from others in the community.
