When you move to a new city and leave your favorite personal trainer behind, it’s hard to get back in a workout routine. Handstand, a mobile app that connects users with at-home and in-gym fitness trainers, aims to help with that process. The app has been called the “Uber of fitness trainers.”
On Tuesday, Handstand announced that it is partnering with Reebok to offer a free training session for users if it is booked by Friday. The partnership is a part of Reebok’s Be More Human campaign, which aims to continue Reebok’s mission to “change how people perceive and experience fitness.” The sessions are free in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle and Miami.
Reebok and Handstand originally partnered back in June, 2016 as part of Reebok’s #TrainerTribute campaign and so teaming up again was a natural fit. Then in October, Handstand announced it had received a $1 million investment from Reebok among other investors.
Handstand’s founder and CEO, Tiffany Hakimianpour, told PYMNTS.com then that Reebok was helping her company go from a startup to a national enterprise. Reebok also provided the app with trainers.

The app offers trainers in 15 different fitness disciplines like yoga and boxing. The app has more than 2,000 trainers and over 3,000 users.
Originally, the app was launched when Hakimianpour’s trainer at the time told her that he only was paid $20 an hour to train her when she paid the gym $150 for the session. The app was born out of Hakimianpour’s efforts to find a way to make training more affordable while putting more money directly into the trainer’s pocket.
The App has three different fitness plans. In the first plan, users can buy a package of 10 sessions over three months, with each session costing $63. The second package offers four sessions per month at $65 per session. The last deal is for eight session per month at $62 per session. The app is now available to use in 16 cities.
