Golfers who already use the GolfNow mobile app to book a golf course are in for a nice surprise when they discover that there is a new premium version of the app as a way to personalize the tee time reservation experience.

What is nice about the new and improved golfing app is that it is designed to do more than just let users reserve course. Now users can use Google Places to allow golfers to easily search for courses in their area or at more than 5000 courses around the world. Not only that, since the app is a way to personalize the searching experience, it has the ability to search for a course based on several criteria, such as price, time of day, and rating.

The premium version of the app offers even more features for an annual fee of $29.99, which includes On-course GPS, Personalized Statistical Analysis Dashboard, and In-Round Scoring.

“We’re making the app smarter and more intuitive about where the golfer is, and what courses and tee times are most relevant to him or her,” said Mike Lowe, Vice President of Product and User Experience for GolfNow, in a press conference. “The premium version of the app with GPS, statistics and scoring will provide avid golfers with the tools they need to monitor and improve their game in a fun and innovative way.”

What is cool about the premium features is the usability that they offer to golfers. The On-course GPS let’s users access more than 30,000 golf courses, while displaying an overhead satellite image of the current hole being played with precise distances to the front, middle, and back of any point on a particular hole.

The personalized statistical analysis let’s users track and monitor their statistic and scoring trends in order for golfers to discern strengths in their game and determine areas that need more attention.

The In-Round Scoring feature comes in handy to keep track of a score during a round. The app keeps the score of up to four players and sends the results to the players participating; and let’s them share the results with their friends as well through social media.

Both versions will also include access to several  Golf Channel digital properties, including the Golf Channel Mobile, Golf Channel Academy, and Golf Advisor.  Users can download the app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
