OGIO Golf Brand Invests In Technology Married With Fashion…Silently

Clink, clank, clickety, clink, clank … ah, the sound of golf clubs banging around in the golf bag. The only noise more familiar to most golfers than, “fore!” It is this very annoyance that inspired OGIO to create its new innovative golf bag dubbed, “The Silencer.” And why the name? No more rattling of clubs as you make your way through 18 holes.

OGIO has been creating forward thinking bags since 1987 when they released the Locker bag—named for its rectangular shape that allowed it to easily fit into a gym locker. Its success made other brands take notice, and partnerships between OGIO and companies like BMW and Callaway were created.

After working with Callaway, OGIO decided to go it alone into the golf bag world—but from a slightly different perspective. Tom Gocke, Global VP of OGIO Golf explains that the drive to build the brand came from “a techie’s interest to solve every little problem that the golfer has on the course.”

While most people wouldn’t consider the clickety-clacking of golf clubs a problem per se, the new Silencer certainly does put an end to it.  When wearing the bag, its technology holds the clubs in place with so much stability you could jump up and down after celebrating a hole-in-one, walk/jog to your ball after a monster drive, perform parkour moves over golf carts (not recommended unless parkour expert) without hearing so much as a jingle from your clubs.

The bag’s 14 individual club compartments keep the clubs neatly organized, and while the Shoxx X4 strap can be mildly uncomfortable, it is easily adjustable for maximum comfort. The Silencer’s unique double strap suspension system absorbs the bounce off your back and automatically distributes the weight of the bag evenly per shoulder.

So go ahead, jump up and down after a hole in one—those clubs ain’t movin’. Run to find your golf ball—still ain’t movin’. Do parkour in the club parking lot? You get the idea.

To explain what’s going on inside that makes the Sliencer so quiet and convenient, Gocke says:

“It’s equipped with an advanced club protection membrane that holds your clubs in place, while a molded bottom piece boasts flex-grab teeth that truly lock it in. This eliminates club movement so you can fully protect your investment. It also comes with 7 pockets, some fleece-lined, some insulated, and almost all of them zippered. You can even embroider the detachable front pocket panel.”

All of this, and it seems the bag would be quite a lot to haul around, but it weighs in at less than five pounds, causing minimal stress to the shoulders.

So, farewell clickety, clank, clank—you’ve officially been Silenced.
