Nissan And Play Station Partner To Bring Fans Attending UEFA Champions League Final Today A Unique Experience

Nissan and Playstation are partnering to create a virtual reality driving experience for the fans at the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday in Milan. The virtual reality experience allows users to drive (with the help of VR) Nissan’s new 2017 GT-R through the streets of Milan. The virtual reality system is available on Playstation’s new system, PlaystationVR, launching this October.

Fans can access the experiences at the Fan Festival site at Piazza Castello during the finals. While using the device, the driver will drive through the streets surrounding the stadium, then detour around the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza racetrack, and end at the San Siro Stadium, where the final is being held. Users are also able to find out what it is like to be a Center Circle Carrier, where football fans carry the UEFA flag onto the field before the kick-off, thanks to the virtual reality system. This is all available thanks to 360 virtual reality footage captured at a previous match in Manchester.

Nissan is an official sponsor of the UEFA league, and has been working all season to get fans excited about their new products and the football games. “Throughout this season we have made sure excitement has been at the heart of everything we have done for football fans…Now that program will culminate in Milan… it makes the start of our ambition to explore excitement further, whether that’s through the effects of our cars or through our other partnerships in the world of sport…” said Jean-Pierre Diernaz Vice President of marketing for Nissan Europe.
