New Startup Called Vibby Wants To Streamline The Sports Video Experience

Frustrated with the passive experience of mindlessly watching video after video, innovators in Croatia and stateside in New York sought to change the script.

Bringing their young minds together, the folks in the international partnership teamed up and resolved their frustrations. They call their solution Vibby.

“Vibby is a tool to highlight, discuss and share the best parts of any video,” said David Sloane, a Business Development and Community Lead for the company.

Building off the capabilities offered by YouTube and other video sharing technologies on the market today, Vibby prides itself on allowing its users to take the next step. With the technology at their fingertips, Vibby users can piece together the essential and watchable highlights of any video while discarding the useless excess footage. Users can also comment directly on precise moments in the video itself and share the finished product with a few clicks of a mouse.

“The idea is really to make video more flexible, social and interactive,” said Sloane. “But also, that the actual watching of the video needs to be a more efficient process because we waste too much time watching the stuff that’s not relevant to us, the stuff that we plain just don’t want to see.”

For coaches, Vibby streamlines the film watching process. The noteworthy footage from game day and practice can be pieced together in a time efficient manner while the extra junk material can be sent straight to the trashcan. With the commenting capability, coaches can also point out proper techniques or flaws in the position alignment of their players.

Vibby even offers its services to the diehards; those devoted enthusiasts that live, eat and breathe sports. These sports aficionados can splice together their favorite footage from a game and share the most spectacular or unforgettable moments across the realms of the Internet.

“It’s such a simple, lightweight tool,” said Sloane. “It’s a really great resource we found for places that say don’t have the most resources or don’t have the most funding. It’s inexpensive and it’s easy to use.”
