NBA 2K17 Upgrades Face Scanning Technology With Mobile App

The popular sports video game series “NBA 2K” has new and improved features coming in their latest version, “NBA 2K17” which is coming out in September.

After voicing their concerns, fans can anticipate an improved face scanning system in the game. In the past the scanning system had a lot of glitches, including creating players with the wrong skin color or not being able to sense a face while scanning.  The new version of the facial rendering feature looks to be embedded in the form of an app on mobile devices.

The scanning system was originally introduced with “NBA 2K15”. It is now an application on mobile devices called GameFace 2.0, created by EA Sports, that can render a face through a camera. The technology on the market for face scanning hasn’t been successful, but it is believed that the 2K17 tech will work without the glitches of the past.

The reason for the face scanning is so that users can personalize their in-game player and make the game feel as realistic as possible. To add to the personalization in the game the 2K Sports game developer has started allowing players to pick from multiple game apparel options, including off-court kicks, streetwear, and new with 2K17, players can wear Adidas Yeezy Boosts.

Other new features for the game include an underwater area.

The game is expected to hit stores on September 20 for PC, Xbox One and 360, PS4 and PS3.
