Sportradar will monitor the domestic and global betting activity across NASCAR’s three largest events as part of a new multi-year partnership between Sportradar and NASCAR. Sportradar announced the deal in a press release on Tuesday.
Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System will monitor signs of nefarious activity for all races during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The company will keep track of odds movements and patterns worldwide to aim to prevent betting fraud. By linking with Sportradar, NASCAR will develop an official betting integrity program that establishes betting-related rules and policies for the sport.
“It is critical to be proactive in developing safeguards that protect NASCAR’s on-track product from any potential integrity threats,” said Brian Herbst, NASCAR VP of Global Media Strategy and Distribution, in the press release. “Sportradar is the leader in this space and knowing that our races will be monitored extensively, while also equipping our industry with the tools and knowledge they require, gives us peace of mind in being able to preserve the integrity of NASCAR as the US wagering market continues to open.”
As part of the deal, Sportradar will also provide on-site educational workshops pertaining to betting integrity offered to NASCAR drivers, teams, and officials. Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System is currently used by more than 75 sports bodies around the world—including the NBA, NHL, MLS, FIFA, and MotoGP.
