We have previously covered MuscleSound and its patented technology developed to assist athletes and coaches in injury prevention, and their partnering with the NCAA. Now MuscleSound is at it again with another move forward with assistance from Alchemy Global Holdings. MuscleSound announced today it has initiated a $5 million private placement offering.
MuscleSound has already established the significance of measuring glycogen levels in athletes, but intends to expand its research in injury prevention and recovery management with the new influx of investment. It will use the proceeds generated from the Offering for costs related to global expansion and extension into the healthcare marketplace.

“MuscleSound has redefined injury prevention, improved athletic performance and through our intimate muscle knowledge, we have optimized nutrition for athletes around the world,” said Stephen Kurtz, MuscleSound’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited to offer investors an unprecedented opportunity to invest in our company, fueling our growth into the healthcare and sports markets.”
MuscleSound works by providing in depth information about the physical needs of an athlete. As athletes work out and practice, their body’s nutritional needs for stamina and endurance change throughout the season. During periods of high exertion, the body primarily uses glycogen to refuel the muscles. MuscleSound allows teams and coaches to measure an athlete’s glycogen levels to monitor and adjust nutritional needs during the season.
Once MuscleSound takes an ultrasound of the muscle, it analyzes the image scan in its cloud-based software, and then generates a report in as little as 15 seconds. Coaches are able to use these results to make informed decisions about an athlete’s nutritional needs and performance ability, and can also manage recovery levels after periods of maximum exertion.
“MuscleSound has developed a game-changing solution for the treatment of soft tissue injuries,” said Andy Brusman, CEO of Alchemy Global Holdings. “The technology is a must have for sports teams, physical therapists and health systems who are treating athletes at any level. We are excited to assist with the capital raise as well as work with the team at MuscleSound to help expand their business globally.”
