Miso Robotics, Levy Bringing Robotic Kitchen Assistants To Sports Venues

When you walk up to the concessions stand at a sporting venue, you want things to go smoothly. No standing around while attendants chat, no guessing as to the quality of food you’ll receive. It sounds harsh, but it’d almost be nice if the attendants were robotic. Miso Robotics agrees; that’s why the company has partnered with Levy to bring robotic kitchen assistants to sports and entertainment venues.

Levy was a participant in Miso’s $10 million Series B funding round announced last month. That investment is helping bring the first autonomous kitchen assistant to a Levy-operated venue this year.

“Serving food in sports venues can be a more complex challenge than in fast food restaurants,” Miso Robotics CEO Melissa Burghardt said in a statement. “Levy values the role our robotic kitchen assistants play in helping staff deliver faster, freshly prepared food and we’re excited to join forces with such a forward-thinking partner to achieve our collective mission in improving consumers’ dining experiences.”

These kitchen assistants can do just about everything that humans could. They cook food consistently through recognizing and monitoring items on the grill and work in collaboration with the kitchen staff. With all due respect to your local sporting venues’ staff, Miso’s robot might cook a better burger in less time.

“We understand that our guests desire exceptional experiences and we’re committed to making sure each one we serve has the most memorable and frictionless dining experiences possible,” Levy CEO Andy Lansing said in a statement. “What appealed to us most in partnering with Miso Robotics is our shared vision in changing the way food is prepared through advanced technology. Their platform will enable us to operate more efficiently, control waste, decrease wait times, enhance consistency and, most importantly, meet guests’ needs.”

Earlier this week, Miso debuted “Flippy” the robotic kitchen assistant, at CaliBurger’s Pasadena location.
