Misfit Phase Offers New, More Fashionable Smartwatch

Smartwatches aren’t always the right look for a night out on the town. It can look out of place in the same outfit as a sports coat or gown. Misfit is trying to solve that clash and have old school chic meet new school technology.

The new Misfit Phase Hybrid Smartwatch is attempting to merge the look of the classic, analog watch with the functions of a smartwatch.

“Watches are the fashion-credible predecessor of wearable technology, and Misfit Phase showcases both the evolution of the wearable technology space and its convergence with the world of fashion accessories,” Misfit general manager Preston Moxcey said in a statement.

The watch really looks like a modern sleek accessory, not a piece of technology. Customers have the choice between six different watch and strap colors, including a brown leather strap option. The watch face is round and thin and watch hands can be silver, gold or rose gold-colored.

Like most smartwatches, the Phase Hybrid displays notifications and feedback on the watch face. It also has the ability to track steps, distance and sleep duration. According to the company, users can check their activity by using interplay of the watch hands, a small color window or vibration notifications. The watch can also plug into a user’s music.

The Misfit Phrase’s battery is non-rechargeable but lasts for six months, and the clock automatically updates to reflect the correct time zones. The watch’s stainless steel and aluminum body is water resistant up to 50 meters.

The Phase Hybrid ranges from $175 to $195 and is now available for pre-order.
