Widely known Internet brand and search engine LYCOS has started to expand the company into digital media, marketing, and Internet of Things (IoT). One of their most recent ideas is the creation of LYCOS Sports app, which came about thanks to a partnership with Breaking Data Corporation.
The app will be available for any and all smartphones and tablets and lets users specifically decide on what teams and players they wish to follow.
“LYCOS Sports app will have selections that include professional sports, specific teams, key players, game reporting and related news,” General Manager of LYCOS Media Edward Noel said in a statement. “We are eager to provide personalization and social commentary reflecting each user’s needs.”

Breaking Data Corporation has been developing learning technologies for years and has recently expanded to assist with mobile and rich media applications.
“Our experience with social, unstructured and structured data enables Breaking Data to deliver specialized services,” Breaking Data CEO Marvin Igelman said in a statement. We offer our BreakingSports app technology that personalizes professional sports content to anonymous individuals based on what they find relevant and useful.
“Breaking Data delivers all media formats in real-time, without overwhelming users. We look forward to providing exactly what’s needed for LYCOS users without them having to work hard to find what they want or enjoy — namely sports on-the-go.”
The app has been developed for and marketed to any type of sports fan, whether you’re a diehard, casual or sport-specific. The LYCOS Sports app will be available in the U.S. starting in October and then released for more countries later on.
