Chinese technology company LeEco announced Tuesday that two new connected smart bicycles will hit the U.S. market later this year. They come tricked out with technology.
The LeEco Smart Road Bike and LeEco Smart Mountain Bike will offer an Android 6.0-powered BikeOS with four-inch touch-screen displays that enable cyclists to navigate and also track performance. The system is powered by a rechargeable battery, provides turn-by-turn navigation from HERE Maps, enables online and offline music to be played, walkie-talkie communication with nearby LeEco smart bikes, and ride logging.

The bikes have sensors including GPS, compass, accelerometer, barometer, light level, wheel speed and crank speed while also offering compatibility with third-party heart rate and power sensors.
For safety, each bike automatically notifies its owner when the security alarm is activated, with its location tracked via mobile app. The bikes offer automatic on-board lighting, are water resistant, and are equipped with horns.
The bikes feature carbon fiber frames and handlebars.
A LeEco spokeswoman told IDG News Service that prices would be announced at a later date.
LeEco had previewed a version of the bikes in October when it entered the U.S. market with a launch event in San Francisco. That “Super Bike” is sold in China and was presented as the laser beam-shooting, high-tech “future of cycling.”
“How cool are those bikes, huh?” Danny Bowman, chief revenue officer of LeEco North America, said.
