KeySports Player Management Firm Signs Performance Data Deal With STATS

Sports data and intelligence firm STATS announced a multiyear deal with KeySports Management, a talent agency company with clients across European soccer. STATS will provide Key Sports with advanced soccer analytics through its Tier 6+ data product.

London-based Key Sports will use STATS player performance data to identify and evaluate potential soccer players to add to its roster of clients. The data will also be used by Key Sports to support its existing clients in contract negotiations with teams and sponsors. “KeySports is one of the industry’s most innovative management agencies,” said Greg Valiquette, Vice President of International Sales at STATS, in a press release. “They’re leading the way into a new era of player management in which data analysis is paramount, and we’re thrilled to be supporting them. Our Tier 6+ data provides the greatest depth of coverage, giving Key Sports an important resource when analysing and evaluating talent.”

Several Key Sports clients currently play in the English Premier League and other top European soccer leagues, including Jamie Vardy, Nathan Ake, Theo Walcott, Jeroen Zoet and Joe Gomez. Key Sports will also use information from STATS to create data-centric posts for social media, to give fans a more in-depth statistical look at how its players are performing on the pitch.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to add another dimension to Key Sports using STATS data. This depth of data we now have available will allow us to explore a wide range of areas from identifying top talent quickly to driving conversation on social media through data-centric posts,” said Adam Bell, a data analyst at Key Sports Management.

By engaging with STATS, Key Sports now has access to the same performance data as some of the world’s biggest sports leagues and media companies. Since being founded in 1981, STATS has worked with professional sports leagues such as the NFL, the NBA, the WNBA, the NHL, and MLB. The Associated Press also integrates STATS’ artificial intelligence-boosted data into its sports coverage. Social live streaming platform SportsCastr, signed a deal to use STATS data insights last December. All of which shows just how widespread the usage of data analytics has become across the sports ecosystem.
