Jabra Elite Sport Offers ‘True Wireless’ Sports Earbuds

Jabra released the Jabra Elite Sport earbuds that offer in-ear heart rate monitoring and coaching along with access to music and phone calls, and it’s an experience the company calls “true wireless.”

That’s because the earbuds that were released exclusively in Best Buy stores on Saturday and recently online do not need wires and cords. Not only is the device Bluetooth-enabled, but also the earbuds do not have the cord that connects them. Athletes can go with either dual or single earbud use.

“What really excites me about our first true wireless earbuds is that they offer an experience that only Jabra can bring-to-life, Jabra CEO René Svendsen-Tune said in a statement. “We’ve used our R&D expertise from across the GN Group to deliver not just the most technically advanced true wireless sports earbuds, but also the most complete cord-free experience for our customers. Jabra Elite Sport is an example of an intelligent sound solution that delivers calls and music very well.”

Jabra Elite Sport caters to athletes as a training companion that measures heart rate with more than 90 percent accuracy and connects to an app that offers fitness testing, a race-time predictor, recovery advice, and tracking fitness development over time. Intelligent in-ear coaching gives real-time feedback based on heart rate and fitness level. The product is also sweat-resistant, with a three-year extended warranty against sweat. It’s waterproof as well and has been tested to work for thirty minutes while submerged in three feet of water.

The earbuds work on both Android and iOS and analyze external sounds, automatically switching to the earbud with least background noise. That noise is removed during calls. For phone calls while running, voice controls and audio lets the user manage calls without touching the phone.
