Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins announced Wednesday the launch of the company’s new live TV streaming beta service called Hulu with Live TV, with subscribers to the $39.99/month service able to enjoy plenty of sports live and record it as well.
Hulu with Live TV includes content from ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, and channels including CBS Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, NBC Sports and TNT.
Two days before the launch, Hulu brought in more sports channels with Monday’s announcement of a deal with NBCUniversal. That gave viewers access to stream Sunday Night Football and the Olympics along with NBCSN, Golf Channel and NBC Sports Regional Networks in Chicago, Philadelphia, New England, Mid-Atlantic, Bay Area, California and Northwest.

With the Walt Disney Company as part of the service that brings ESPN into the fold, viewers also get ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ESPNEWS. The deal with FOX includes Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Fox Regional Sports Networks and Big Ten Network.
Hulu with Live TV subscribers can follow their favorite teams conveniently, as Hulu will surface and record those games live, subject to availability. The service includes 50 hours of recording storage.
“Nearly a decade ago, Hulu forever redefined the way people watch TV. Today, as we add live sports, news and entertainment and introduce a more intuitive Hulu, we want to redefine the way people experience TV,” Hopkins said.
