How ClutchPoints Is Unlocking The Sports World For Fans On Mobile

In the busy world that many sports fans live in, being able to sit down and watch an entire 3-hour NBA game is a luxury that not all fans have time to do. But the recently created ClutchPoints app is hoping to change that by allowing NBA games in real time without staring at a boring box score or having to check multiple apps to find the content that they like.

The ClutchPoints app aggregates social media, stats, play-by-play, and video clips all into one smooth app that allows fans to follow games on the go. When fans first open the app they will immediately see the personalization that ClutchPoints gives to its users; after a short walk through on what the app offers, users are asked to select their favorite NBA teams. From there users are directed to a screen which allows them to swipe right or left to show things such as a traditional box score, the ClutchPoints Stream where all of the content is aggregated, the matchup which shows advanced stats, and finally the traditional play-by-play.

Founder Nish Patel, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, has been a die-hard Lakers fan since day one. The UCLA graduate has always had a knack for entrepreneurship. Patel has been excited to disrupt traditional methods of how people went about life, and in creating ClutchPoints he was able to combine his love for sports and his entrepreneurial background to create an app that adds an additional dimension to the traditional way fans follow their favorite NBA teams.11831284_1200579779968378_88371872_o

The inspiration for ClutchPoints came from noticing a common problem that all these sports fans seemed to be facing: Getting an in-game experience when you’re not in front of a TV. Redefining and providing a unique and disruptive way of experiencing the game from all angles: in-game videos as they happen, interesting insights and commentary on what’s happening within the game itself, and much more,” said Patel.

The app does just that, it allows fans to stay up to date with the latest news and stats on their favorite NBA teams and also see reports from multiple media outlets, such as team twitter accounts and team beat writers, all in one place.

The app currently focuses solely on the NBA, but according to Patel, ClutchPoints has plans of expanding to other sports in the near future.

“We’re all about our users and perfecting the app. Our initial goal is a proof of concept with the NBA and ensuring we completely answer and develop anything our users ask from us to better the app from a feature and performance standpoint. Once optimized, we can look into perfecting the app for other sports. Each sport has unique fans that all want something different and we want to ensure we are expanding into all the niches and understanding exactly what each fan of different sports would want and need,” said Patel.

According to Patel, the ultimate goal for ClutchPoints is to redefine the way that people experience sports through their mobile device so fans are able to see everything that they want at the palm of their hand.

“ClutchPoints will allow for snippet-based viewing so you can passively see all the important events in the game right as they happen. Instead of just seeing the score and “Kobe Bryant makes the shot” you’ll get the insightful announcer saying “Kobe Bryant has hit the dagger to send the game to OVERTIME” along with Kobe’s reaction, the fan’s reaction and even the other team’s reaction, all as people are posting this content on social media. This way you know exactly what’s happening in the game from anywhere you are. All in all, we want to introduce a unique, new dimension of following sports,” said Patel.
