Social video platform Grabyo announced Monday the launch of Grabyo Cloud Producer, a browser-based production suite for professional-quality live streams that was used earlier this month as the Hero Caribbean Premier League draft was shown on Facebook Live.
As the commissioner announced the cricket players who were drafted, there were pre-recorded video segments and highlights shown along with live graphics overlays that showed how streaming shows across social media could be done without expensive broadcast production systems and hardware.
“Using Cloud Producer to insert graphics overlays and pre-recorded VOD content in real-time helped create a top-quality and innovative live broadcast which extended the reach and appeal of the biggest party in sport to an established and new audience of followers and we look forward to building on that relationship for the months and years to come,” Caroline Smith, Head of Digital for Hero CPL, said in a statement.

With Grabyo Cloud Producer, content creators can deliver shows with multiple streams, live feed switching, live mobile video inputs, rich graphics overlays and animations, VOD insertion and instant highlights.
“Rights owners and publishers want to reduce their dependency on costly broadcast production platforms as they’re bound by the limitations of their fixed infrastructure,” Grabyo CEO Gareth Capon said in a statement. “By launching Grabyo Cloud Producer, we’re now giving content owners a versatile, digital platform for all their social video editing, distribution and live stream production needs.”
