The Hero4 Session, GoPro’s newest camera, marks the beginning of a new generation for the GoPro Action camera series. The Hero4 Session is recognized as the smallest GoPro camera, weighing a measly 2.6 ounces. Like its predecessors, it is very durable and is the first GoPro product that does not need a case and is still waterproof. So it makes sense that this particular model had taken three years to create.
The Hero4 Session camera is waterproof and can sustain its abilities up to 33 feet underwater. GoPro has also added a new underwater microphone system as well where water will be drained out the microphone automatically.
The Hero4 Session does not possess a replaceable battery but instead has smart power controls. Different from its past models, the Session will feature one button that controls both the power of the device and the recording mechanics of the camera. Finally, the Session will also contain a tiny LCD screen, but it is not touchscreen.

GoPro chief executive Nick Woodman explained that GoPro has previously, “got away with murder in the early years. We think of at GoPro as a movement. It’s a movement that’s enabling the highest quality user-generated content that the world has ever seen, blurring the lines with professionally produced content… (The Session) is so small, so convenient, so versatile, and we’re so stoked to what it’s going to add to the whole GoPro movement.”
With a new versatile design and minimalistic features the cube shaped GoPro Hero4 Session will cost close to $600. The session will also be able to capture HD footage at both 1440p and 1080p, and will even be able be capable to digest 720p clips.
