Have you ever wanted to road-trip to every MLB stadium but just can’t find the time or money? Well, now you can thanks to an awesome new tool developed by an independent unit within Teehan+Lax.  Mashable’s Sam Laird is calling it a tool for creating “mind-bending journeys.”

It’s named Google Street View Hyperlapse.

So what is Hyper-lapse photography? According to Teehan+Lax:

Hyper-lapse photography – a technique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements typically focused on a point-of-interest – has been a growing trend on video sites. It’s not hard to find stunning examples on Vimeo. Creating them requires precision and many hours stitching together photos taken from carefully mapped locations. We aimed at making the process simpler by using Google Street View as an aid, but quickly discovered that it could be used as the source material. It worked so well, we decided to design a very usable UI around our engine and release Google Street View Hyperlapse.

SportTechie created a Google Street View Hyperlapse of all 30 MLB stadiums (see below). Most of them turned out great – my favorites are Nationals Park, AT&T Park, Fenway Park and Petco Park. You’ll need Google Chrome on a decent machine in order to view.
